FRONT LIGHTS

No matter where you are riding at night, road or trail, you are going to need a front light to illuminate your way. If it is the road you are traveling on, a front light may be legally required as well. From cheap small lights to make you seen, to expensive 3600 lumen lights that illuminate the entire landscape, we have front lights that will suit your needs.

Front lights differ from rear lights in multiple ways. The easiest distinction is the fact that front lights project white light and rear lights project red light. Front lights also tend to have higher lumen ratings because they don’t only have to create enough light to be seen by others, but also must create enough light to illuminate the trail or path in front of you. Front lights are also usually designed to attach to the handlebar while rear lights are usually designed to attach to the seat post.

Most lights come with multiple light settings. These settings control how much light is being emitted and whether the light is solid or flashing. The lower the lumen setting, the longer the light can last. A flashing mode is a great alternative because it consumes less energy but remains highly visible. Irregular flash patterns also exist to create even better awareness while you are on the road.

USB cables have become the primary way to charge bike lights. USB cables have proven to be an easier and more effective way to charge lights. Some small battery powered lights still exist but they are not very common.

Some lights that have an extremely high lumen rating feature an external battery pack which must be used with the light. The battery pack can either be attached to the frame or stored in a backpack. These lights can last for a long time at a high lumen output because of the extra battery storage.
