If you want to be as protected as possible on your bike, grab yourself some body armor. Available in a variety of protection levels and coverage, there is a piece of armor with your name on it. At JensonUSA, we have a wide selection of mountain bike body armor for you to choose from. Never fear a crash again knowing you are fully protected.
Some body armor is designed to be worn as a base layer. The base layer style of body armor usually covers your entire torso and sometimes various portions of your arms. They feature internal or external armor pieces and usually offer some type of back protection. Back protection is arguably the most important part of body armor.
External chest protectors are another version of body armor. Chest protectors usually reside on the outside of a jersey or shirt and provide upper chest and upper back protection. Occasionally they also include shoulder protection as well. Since a chest protector doesn’t cover your entire torso, they are much lighter and cooler than a base-layer of body armor. They are also much easier to take on and off.
Some companies have realized that not everyone enjoys wearing body armor. Because of this, they have created backpacks that contain certified spine protection. It’s better to have only spine protection than no protection at all. Along similar lines, some companies have made body armor designed to be a piece of outerwear that features less intense body protection. These articles of outerwear are lighter and cooler than a standard piece of body armor, but again, some protection is better than no protection.
